Viewing Cluster History

From the navigation menu in the controller UI, you can access the HISTORY page that allows you to generate a report showing basic information related to the clusters that were running within the specified range of dates.

In contrast with the cloud controller dashboard, which only lists your currently active clusters, the historical report includes information for all the clusters created by the cloud controller.

To generate a report:

  1. From the controller UI navigation menu, select HISTORY.

  2. On the HISTORY page, select the range of dates and click SHOW HISTORY to generate a report for the selected period.

  3. Once the report is generated, you can sort the data by clicking on the column headers.

Report Content

The report includes the following information:

The AGGREGATE RUNNING TIME is the sum of the Running Times, adjusted for the selected time range.

How are EC2 instance-hours billed

AWS bills for each EC2 instance-hour, which means that you are billed for each hour or partial hour that your instance is in the “running” state. For example:

  • A 4-node cluster that runs for 20 minutes counts for 4 EC2 instance-hours.
  • A 3-node cluster that runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes counts for 9 EC2 instnace-hours.

For more information, refer to How are EC2 instance-hours billed.
